Clinical Mind AI Expands Capabilities with New Features

We are excited to share the latest round of enhancements to Clinical Mind AI, designed to give educators, students, and institutions more control, flexibility, and insight. This update introduces new ways to interact with activities, expanded tools for instructors, and institutional features that pave the way for advanced research on clinical reasoning.

Student Level

1. View All Performances Students can now see their performances across activities, even when feedback is turned off. This change improves transparency and allows learners to track progress more effectively.

Instructor Level

2. Rich Text Editor for Activity Instructions Instructors can now format activity instructions with highlights, multiline text, or numbered lists, enabling clearer and more structured case guidance.

3. Click-in-Picture Question Type A new interaction type allows instructors to create click-in-picture questions for students. Watch the tutorial here.

4. Learning Outcomes Integration and Tagging Instructors can add learning outcomes from institutional or personal libraries and tag them directly to case items. This feature will support a future algorithm that analyzes student performance and suggests practical instructional strategies. Collaborating institutions will be invited to participate in research using this tool. Watch the tutorial here.

5. Improved Course Analytics Visualization Analytics are now easier to explore, with a clearer interface and additional guidance to help instructors interpret student performance data.

6. Editable Feedback for Activities All activities with feedback enabled can now be reviewed and edited. After making changes, instructors can resend updated feedback to students. Watch the tutorial here.

7. Streamlined Case Creation Navigation The case creation workflow has been improved, with a clearer separation between activity sections and items. This supports the growing range of interaction types.

8. Flexible Feedback Options Instructors can now decide whether feedback is generated by AI or provided manually. When using AI feedback, instructors may choose to review it before releasing to students. In addition, feedback can be turned off for specific items (e.g., visit notes) within an activity. Watch the tutorial here.

Institutional Admin Level

9. Institutional Learning Outcomes Libraries Institutional administrators can now create and manage their own libraries of learning outcomes, making it easy for instructors to tag activities consistently with shared curricular goals.

We are deeply grateful to the educators, students, and institutions who continue to guide the evolution of Clinical Mind AI. Your feedback is shaping a platform that combines advanced technology with research-based insights to improve clinical reasoning education.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
