Eduardo Durante

Dr. Eduardo H. Durante (MD, MHPE, PhD) is a Family Physician and medical education leader based at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Maastricht University (Netherlands), and is a Fellow of the Faculty Development Program at Stanford University. He currently serves as Director of the Undergraduate Medical Program and the Master's Program in Health Professions Education at Universidad Hospital Italiano. A pioneer in Latin American medical education reform, Dr. Durante led the creation of a fully integrated, outcomes-based curriculum built around Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs)—one of the first of its kind in the region. He also coordinates the Committee on Research in Health Professions Education and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Medical Education and Curricular Development. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to curricular innovation, faculty development, and advancing socially accountable education aligned with health system needs.
